We all have lost love ones on the road, this project was personally started in 2012 when I (Kenneth Goeieman) lost a brother in a car accident close to Gobabis. This accident was caused by a driver trying to overtake at a no-overtaking zone, leading my brother to go off the road and losing control of the vehicle.

Namibia has one of the best if not the best road networks in Africa, but these roads are not safe. The spate of accidents and the resulting casualties are not only costing human lives but have far reaching consequences socially and economically

As a tool to encourage and inspire the youth and other individuals to be compliant and adhere to rules and regulations we have developed an interactive learning computer program. This program covers the first step on route to a driver’s licence which is the Learners Licence.

With +/-40 000 learner licence testing being done monthly and with a pass rate of about 38% it is clear that our roads are not as safe as it should be.

Most of these applicants are the youth from the age of 17 to 23, which grew up in a world surrounded by computers and mobile phones. We believe that when we take advantage of the technology around the youth to engage them into learning the rules and regulations of our roads we will be having more reliable, obedient drivers which will make our roads safer.
