About Lincoln Secret Knight

Find the Secret Knight hiding in Lincoln using this augmented reality app.

The Lincoln Secret Knight is an augmented reality app that allows you to find the secret knight hiding in Lincoln. Download the app and scan the marker situated by the frame on the Brayford Pool. Once you find the knight you can change their appearance and poses before taking a picture of the knight and sharing it with your friends!

The application was made by the School of Computer Science at the University of Lincoln as a playful public interaction experience building upon our research of exploring augmented reality interaction design in a public setting.

The Secret Knight is inspired by the Lincoln Knights’ Trail: a trail of 36 sculptures around Lincoln city centre to mark the 800th anniversary of the 1217 Battle of Lincoln. The Lincoln Knights’ Trail is a Wild in Art event brought to the city by Lincoln BIG, in support of the Nomad Trust.
