LoreGen

Asha and Eric, never knew their grandparents. These siblings always wanted to know more about the relatives, but never had a way to keep track of family members and their history. This desire led to the idea for LoreGen: a Mobile App for keeping track of genealogy and family stories.

LoreGen allows users to create profiles for family members, write or record stories and advice given by family members, and view family relationships on a family tree. The “People” section of our app gives users a place to fill out profiles on their family members. These profiles contain information like name, birth and death dates, and a short bio. These people can also be assigned relationships to other people like parent, child, or spouse. In the “Advice” and “Stories” sections we allow users to either type or record information and associate it with the person who is giving advice or telling the story. Finally, you can visualize the relationships between people with our “Family Tree”. The section allows you to select a person in the app, and see the people they are closely related to drawn out in a family tree.

LoreGen was designed to be a simple, easy-to-use phone app that will allow users to keep track of their family history in order to preserve stories and memories for future generations.
