Malahide Heritage Trail

The Malahide Village Heritage Trail App is your easy-to-use travel companion to explore the history and heritage of our beautiful village. Discover the area in the palm of your hand with a self-guided Walking Trail, featuring the hidden gems and stories that Malahide has to tell.


The trail is designed to give you an insight into what it was like to be a native of one of the east coast's most historic small towns, one whose story has been heavily shaped since the 13th century by the Talbot family and their seat at nearby Malahide Castle as well as the coming of the railway in the 1840s and, of course, the sea. 

The trail will take around one hour and 45 minutes and focuses on the village centre. A 10 minute walk will bring you to Malahide Castle where the rich history of the Talbots is separately explored there. While at the Castle do drop in to Malahide Historical Society's small museum.     

Once the Tour is downloaded it can work offline:


- to track your position along the route using your phones GPS

- never get lost
- sends you alerts when you have reached a key stop


- shows photos, descriptions, video & audio of key stops along the route -with historical content


- gives distance and elevation profiles on each of the trails


We are the Eco-friendly solution, with no use of paper maps or guidebooks.
