He released three independent albums before signing a contract with Epic Records and achieved a breakthrough in 2014 with the single "All About That Bass". The song reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second single Trainor, "Lips Are Movin" peaked at number four. His EP, Title debuted at number 15 on Billboard 200 in September 2014, and his full-length album of 2015, also titled Title, debuted at number one.
