BlockPilot

BlockPilot turns a tablet into a friendly coding workspace for WeDo 2.0 robotics

kits. Learners drag colour-coded blocks onto a canvas, snap them into a

sequence, and watch a real model respond — motors turning, lights changing,

sounds playing — with no typing and no menus to hunt through.

BUILD PROGRAMS BY DRAGGING

• A large pan-and-zoom canvas with room for several programs side by side

• Colour-coded blocks: Flow Control, Motor and Output, Light and Sound, and

Sensor and Input

• Tap a block to set its value; drag a value block onto a slot to drive it from

a sensor, a number, or a random value instead

• Loops that repeat a set number of times or forever, message blocks to trigger

one program from another, and waits to pace the action

• Programs save themselves as you work, with a project library of thumbnails to

pick up where you left off

CONNECT REAL ROBOTS

• Connects to the Smarthub over Bluetooth Low Energy

• Up to six hubs connected at once, so a whole group can run together

• Name each hub and give it a colour, then tap Identify to make that hub flash

and chime so you know which model is which

• Live sensor readings for tilt, distance and sound, plus hub battery level

• Motors, LED colour, sounds and on-screen display all driven from blocks

LESSONS AND CLASSROOM USE

• A lesson library that walks learners through Explore, Create, Connect and

Programme steps

• Each lesson can open with a build guide and a starter program to remix

• Download lessons for offline use — handy where school Wi-Fi is unreliable

• Import your own lesson PDF straight from the tablet and it appears in the

library alongside the rest

• Lesson plans can be attached to a project for a teacher's own notes
