PassLocals

PassLocals is an offline-focused application designed to store and manage sensitive information using physical NFC cards.

The app interacts with NFC cards to write and read encrypted text data. All information is processed and encrypted locally. PassLocals does not require account registration and does not automatically transmit user data to external servers.

Access to stored data is controlled by the user through authorized devices and NFC cards. The application functions as an interface for managing encrypted information stored on the card. Data remains under the user’s control and can only be accessed from devices explicitly authorized by the user.

PassLocals supports a role-based access model that allows data access permissions to be managed locally, without the use of server-based, cloud, or other SaaS infrastructure. Role management and access control are performed without transmitting user data to third parties.

The role model includes the following access levels:

Master — full access and system management, including configuration of devices, cards, and roles.

Reserve Master — a backup role intended to restore control in the event the primary Master device is lost.

Reader — read-only access without the ability to modify data.

Assistant — can update NFC cards and perform write operations without access to the stored content.

The application is intended for users who prefer offline operation and physical access control instead of cloud-based services. It is designed to work with sensitive text-based information such as passwords, seed phrases, API keys, and other important notes.

For proper use of the application, users are advised to review the usage instructions available on the official website.

PassLocals requires compatible NFC cards to operate. Removing the application may reset the local device identifier. Before removal, users are advised to ensure that access is configured on another authorized device assigned the Master or Reserve Master role.
