Plant Base

Plant reference encyclopaedia built around a fully searchable on-device database. This is the Android edition of our popular PC and Mac product - sharing exactly the same database and with similar capability but redesigned for mobile use.

This is an old-school, no frills application that may not suit everyone. However, it can be very valuable for enthusiast gardeners or others with a serious interest in plants. We strongly encourage reading more details on our website before purchase and installing.

IMPORTANT :- Installation of this app does not include the database files as they are very large. They are loaded separately with a choice of two methods - either transferred from an existing copy on PC/Mac/Linux, or alternatively downloaded directly by running our free data file support "helper" app. This can be done in advance, prior to purchase and requires no payment or registration. Our supplied database has thousands of plant data records and pictures, all fully accessible by the user - records may be amended and new ones added. Personal plant lists can be created, which can be helpful for garden projects or function as bookmarks to the main data records.

Plant records are organised by botanical name (aka Latin name) and also searchable by common name and many other criteria. Many, though not all, have pictures and you can easily add more photos. The database files can be exchanged by direct copy with the PC/Mac/Linux editions of Plant Base. The Android edition makes a useful mobile partner for these, or can be used on its own.
