PolyType

PolyType is a high precision keyboard for the Android mobile platform that gives users maximum control over what they type.

Breaking the norm, PolyType arranges characters in polygons, rather than standard keyboard layout. This layout makes more sense for the small touch screen interface -- taking full advantage of what little space is available.

To type, a user may either tap or drag. To tap, the user simply touches the character as in most mobile keyboards. To drag, the user taps in the center of a polygon group and guides a line through the character to be typed.

Keyboards that rely heavily on predictive models generally provide zero assistance when it comes to typing names, places, passwords, e-mail addresses, URLs, and other unrecognized strings of characters. Engineered for precision, PolyType does not need to interpret the user's intentions and thus does not include any predictive behavior. The result is a keyboard that is light-weight and free from potentially invasive and insecure learning models.

PolyType is also completely customizable, allowing the user to choose their favorite color layout, or, if they prefer, a stimulating polychromatic color mode that slowly progresses through the color spectrum as they type.
