It is committed to raising awareness and raising awareness about the value of landscapes.

This project proposes to raise awareness and raise awareness about the value of local landscapes and stories in interaction with natural components by creating a content portal, in a continuous link between real and represented spaces.

Within this framework, we focus on vegetation and in particular on ombúes, as individuals and as a species (Phytolacca dioica). This species is indigenous to the humid pampas (southern Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay), so it develops spontaneously there. It has accompanied the civilization processes, linking with local history and culture, coming to acquire a paradigmatic character for the region.

Rescue and disseminate values ​​associated with nature - understood as a cultural construct - contributes to the knowledge and enjoyment of the landscape as an articulator of human practices and representations related to nature. At the same time, the focus on an element that transcends urban and social borders is of particular importance as an instrument of integration.

Operating dynamics:

A database is being assembled with knowledge, myths and legends, representations (plastic, literary, photographic and musical) and practices (urban, architectural, landscape and social) associated with the species and plant specimens. It is also part of a first georeference of individuals.

The dynamics of the project implies the interaction between a multidisciplinary base team of the Faculty of Architecture and a wide range of individual and institutional collaborators.

Invitation to collaborate:

This content portal is beginning its construction. Material is being processed to upload to the web. All those interested can register as users and send us information about the ombúes: data on copies (photography and location of copies), practices, representations, stories, etc. The information sent will be processed, in case it does not overlap with existing information, it will be uploaded to the website and the collaborators will be included in the respective list.
