About pwr-running
THE MOST COMPLETE RUNNING APP: Power, VO2, and much more.
ACTIVITIES:
- Record your workouts using only the sensors of your mobile phone: GPS, accelerometer, barometer, ... Not having to connect other sensors avoids "wasting" your mobile battery.
- Select the measurement model that best suits your route: Mountain or cross country, Road or Competition. You don't want to have to select the model but you want a model that is as accurate as possible: we have developed an "Optimized" model that adapts to any type of route.
- If your phone has a barometer, we have developed a model to measure unevenness with maximum precision. If you do not have a barometer, we measure the variations in altitude with the GPS. It is not as precise but in most cases it is enough.
- The app allows you to pause/resume the activity and you can configure the auto-pause option.
- Activate the audio to have information at the end of each kilometer of pace or calories burned.
- Check the running parameters, analyze the profile or the activity map and compare your running or metabolic efficiency with that of other "runners" through the percentile.
- Check the monthly evolution through the Statistics section.
RACE METRICS AND PARAMETERS:
- All the data of the session is made by estimates from the mobile sensors, so the quality and accuracy of the sensors is decisive in the quality of the estimates. The first block includes the basic parameters from the GPS. The distance is calculated from the horizontal GPS (latitude and longitude). On the map of the session, you can zoom in to see the points recorded by the GPS.
- The second block corresponds to the dynamics of the race. Cadence is measured in steps per minute and stride length in centimeters. Vertical oscillation is the average elevation of the center of gravity and running efficiency is the ratio of vertical oscillation to stride length. The less you jump to achieve the same stride, the less effort you put in and the more efficient your running dynamics. The percentile is relative to data from other pwr-running users. A percentile P-67 means that out of 100 sessions, with 100 being the most efficient, this session is in position 67, that is, more efficient than the average. Average power refers to the power required to move the body with the measured or estimated vertical and horizontal oscillation motion. VO2 is the volume of oxygen consumed measured in milliliters and per kilogram displaced and minute of effort. VO2 makes it possible to accurately estimate the calorie consumption in the cells from the oxygen consumed. Metabolic efficiency is the ratio of the work or power developed per time (in calories or joules) divided by the work or energy expended in the cells (in calories or joules). It is a measure of the body's efficiency as a machine. The human body is more efficient running (33-37%) than cycling (22%-26%). The Metabolic Efficiency percentile is referred to the pwr-running database. There is also an analysis block per kilometer and another block of distances estimated by calculation method.
-The last block refers to the phone that has been used and the quality of its sensors. The battery consumed in percentage is used to calculate the battery life with the same consumption starting at 100%.
