Recite Notes

Hi, do you wish to recite on a certain quote or verse noted down during a sermon, and getting some help to check on how accurate you are? Do you wish to recite on verses collected for a particular topic frequently, and having the means to validate how well you have remember them? Or as a presenter, do you wish check how well you have recited the key points before delivering a speech? Well, this app can help you with these situations and more! It is designed to let you capture text based notes and verses quickly. After that, it can listen to your utterance against the piece you have selected, and then calculate how precise you are.

Besides being useful for many scenarios, this app is also easy to use. To create a note, press the ‘add’ button on the main screen, and the pop-up will appear prompting for preliminary information. The pop-up will let you input the title, description and then assign a category you desire (e.g. ‘sermon’, ‘quiet times’, ‘memory verses’ etc.) quickly, before proceeding with the note details.

In this app, a note lets you capture 2 types of components (text and verse). When you create a text component, you can also apply some basic styling on the captured text, and each text component can be styled different. For a verse component, the app will you prompt for the book, the chapter, verse references as well as the translation of the Bible. You could also press the ‘bible translation’ button to retrieve the verse online. Alternative, you can copy the verse from a preferred source (e.g. from the web, bible app or google lens etc.) and paste it on the verse field. For both types of component, press the ‘ok’ button at the end and you are done!

To recite on a particular piece of text or verse, simply drag the component to the right, until the message ‘release to recite’ appears, and then let go. The app will then listen to you, and then calculate an approximate score (I.e. by matching what you have spoken against the selected text or verse component). A colored round indicator (green, amber, red - ‘good!’, ‘could be better!’ or ‘try again!’) base on your score will be attached to the left lower corner of the component for your future reference. For a greater challenge, long press the text or verse, and will it be ‘hidden’ to increase difficulty during reciting. To ‘unhide’ the text or verse, just long press the invisible part of the text and verse area again. Dragging the component to the left will reveal actions you can perform (e.g. moving up, down or deleting it) for the selected component.

There are also other useful features like letting you to filter by category, search by title, description and date etc. when long pressing the ‘add’ button on the main screen. Kindly refer to the playstore introduction video for more details.

According to the Bible, there are definite benefits for reciting the scriptures. For example,

Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in you sight ...”

Psalm 49:3 “My mouth shall speak wisdom. And the mediation my heart will give you understanding”

Proverbs 22:18-19 “… Let them all be fixed upon your lips, so that you trust may be in the Lord ...”.
