The book Al Muktashar Al Lathif which is in the hands of the reader is a concise book which explains several discussions of fiqh based on the Shafi'i school of thought written by Shaykh Al-Allamah Al-Faqih Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Bafadhal Al-Hadhrami Asy-Shafi'i.

The book Al-Mukhtashar Al-Lathif is a summary of his book entitled Al-Mukhtashar Al-Kabir or the more famous title Al-Muqaddimah Al-Hadhramiyah or Masaa'il At-Ta'lim.

Even though it is concise, the content of the discussion includes many important discussions in fiqh issues such as purification, prayer, fasting, zakat, pilgrimage, and buying and selling. This book is very suitable to be studied by anyone who wants to learn the basics of fiqh, especially the Shafi'i school of thought - before moving on to advanced books.

Due to the importance of the matters discussed in this book, we are trying to translate this book so that it can be read by anyone who needs it.

In translating this book, several methods were taken:

1. Displaying the original Arabic text is important so that readers can refer to the source

2. Leave the original text translated without explanation so that it is easy to distinguish between the original text and the translator's comments

3. Provide footnotes on words or sentences whose meaning or explanation needs to be explained.

The explanation can be taken from similar matan books such as Safinatun Najah and Al Muqaddimah Al-Hadhramiyyah or the syarah from the book Al Fawaid Al-Mardhiyyah along with an explanation from Shaykh DR Labib Najib Hafizhahullah in the cycle of this book at the At Taqwa Bekasi Mosque in 2022.

The author says Jazahumullah khairal jazaa to Shaykh DR Labib Najib Hafidzhahullah who has provided his knowledge on the cycle of this book for 4 days and also to his asatidz friends who helped provide comments and corrections to the translation of this book.

May Allah bestow abundant rewards on the author of this book, on our teachers, and on all students of knowledge who read this book.
