RunBeat - Running Metronome

Choose a beat, follow your rhythm, and keep a record of each session.

RunBeat is a metronome for practicing a steady rhythm while running or walking. Set a target step rate and follow the beat. The app supports English and Korean, with a language choice in Settings.

Make the beat your own

• Set a target from 100 to 220 steps per minute, in increments of one

• Hear a beat on every step or every two steps

• Choose from seven sounds: electronic, wood, bell, kick, hi-hat, snare and marimba

• Preview sounds and adjust the volume

• Choose 10, 20 or 30 minutes, or run without a time limit

• Start after a three-second countdown, then pause and resume as needed

• Adjust your target during a session

Keep going with your screen off

On Android, background playback keeps the beat running. Pause, resume or stop from the notification or lock screen. If another app temporarily takes over audio, RunBeat mutes its beat while the session clock continues, then restores the sound when audio control returns. A lasting interruption may require you to resume manually.

Review and share your sessions

Save the metronome's active time and your chosen target segments on your device. Review time spent at each target or delete records you no longer need.

From session details, take a photo or choose one from your gallery. Create a photo card with the date, active time and target cadence, then share it through an app you choose. Cards are created on your device, without copying the original photo's location or capture metadata.

The displayed step rate is your chosen target. RunBeat does not count steps or measure actual cadence, GPS distance or speed.

Explore 1,000 video links

Find links by target cadence and genre in a catalog of 1,000 YouTube videos, including individual tracks and longer workout mixes. Refresh shows up to eight videos, giving priority to videos not yet recommended. Once the matching pool has been shown, it cycles through the least recently recommended videos. Videos may repeat.

Keep your picks in a separate Favorites tab. Saved videos stay available across target and genre changes and app restarts, and are excluded from later refreshes. Real video thumbnails load when you are online.

Recommendations use the catalog included in the app. There is no live YouTube search; catalog changes come through app updates. BPM values come from publishers' video titles and have not been independently measured or checked by listening. Check each video's actual tempo and availability.

Videos open in YouTube or your browser and pause the metronome. Return to RunBeat and resume manually. RunBeat does not play music inside the app, analyze beats or automatically sync to music.

About the app

• No account is required. Sessions, favorites, recommendation history and settings are stored on your device. Cloud sync and recovery after uninstalling are not available.

• The metronome and local recommendations and storage work offline. Thumbnails, external videos, ads and the other-apps catalog need internet access.

• Contains bottom banner ads. When ad privacy options are required, you can change them in Settings.

• Ads, diagnostics and external image services may process device and advertising identifiers, error information and IP addresses. Session history and favorites are not uploaded to Firebase.
