Save Amulsar: Protect and Sustain Environment

The game was created to raise and address environmental issues. There are a number of serious environmental issues in Armenia, many of which based on mining. It caused irreversible damages to Armenian nature and human health. These mines include Qajaran, Teghut, Akhtala, Sotk, Kapan, Agarak and many others. Civic activists have raised numerous environmental issues for many years, but the former corrupt government of Armenia has suppressed those struggles, applying political pressure, persecution, and other abuses upon the citizens. Despite this, activists have not backed down for years and continued their struggle. In 2018, the so-called, velvet revolution took place in Armenia, which received great support from environmentalists as well, with the latter playing an important role in the revolution. To the surprise of all revolutionaries, the newly formed government did not attempt to solve the existing environmental issues by revolutionary means. It turned out that the government started to support, in particular, “Lydian Armenia” company, which is trying to operate a very high-risk mine in Amulsar. Its exploitation will cause irreversible damage to Armenia's water resources, including Lake Sevan. Due to the fact that Amulsar is located near Jermuk resort town, Jermuk's natural mineral and freshwater may also be affected. The future of the well-known resort will also be in danger. Realizing all this, the local community went out for peaceful disobedience in May 2018 and repeatedly closed four roads leading to the summit of Mount Amulsar. And the roads leading to Amulsar have been closed since June 22․2018, as the new government has not resolved the problem to date. The four roads depicted in the game are the closed roads mentioned above, leading to Amulsar. And the characters trying to approach the mine are the “Lydian Armenia” miners. Every one who plays the game and prevents the miners from entering the mine, will contribute to Amulsar's defense, as part of the proceeds from the game will be directed at protecting Amulsar and the potential exploitation of any mine in the area.
