Hidden Shadows is a browser-based game that reinvents the classic memory game, transforming it into an engaging challenge of logic and deduction. Unique Game Concept

Unlike traditional memory games in which you flip tiles to find visual matches, "Hidden Shadows" hides each object behind a puzzling "shadow." The player's task is to identify the hidden object before being able to match it.

The gameplay is structured as follows:

Shadow Selection: The player selects a tile from the grid.

Clue Analysis: Rather than revealing the object, selecting it opens an interactive panel that provides a series of clues. These clues are formulated as binary (YES/NO) questions about the object's properties (e.g., "Am I made of metal?", "Do I grow on a tree?", "Am I an appliance?"). The player can scroll through the questions to gather as much information as possible.

Deduction: Using the clues provided, the player must deduce the object's identity.

Guess: Once a guess has been made, the player types it into a text field associated with the tile.

Matching: A pair is considered "matched" and is permanently revealed only when the player has correctly guessed the names of both matching objects on the grid.

The ultimate goal is to reveal all pairs, completing the grid in as few moves as possible.

Progression and Content Unlocking

"Hidden Shadows" is structured to offer a gradual learning curve and a sense of constant progression.

Diverse Themes: The game is organized into numerous themes, such as "Kitchen Items," "Animals," "Fruit," "Musical Instruments," and many others. Each theme features a unique set of objects to guess.

Difficulty Levels: The themes are grouped into four levels of increasing difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. As the difficulty increases, the objects become more specific and the clues more subtle, requiring greater reasoning skills.

Unlock System: The player begins with the "Easy" level themes unlocked. To access higher levels, they must demonstrate their skill by completing a certain number of themes from the previous level. For example, to unlock the "Hard" themes, they may need to complete a specific number of "Medium" themes.

Perfect Completions: For players seeking the ultimate challenge, some levels require "perfect completions" to unlock. A perfect completion is achieved by winning a game without using any kind of help, rewarding pure deductive skill.

Strategic Aids (with a Cost)

When a shadow seems impenetrable, players have a system of strategic aids at their disposal. Using these aids, however, comes at a cost of additional "moves," impacting the final score and preventing a perfect completion.

First Letter: Reveals the first letter of the item's name.

Word Length: Shows the number of letters in the name.

Reveal Consonants: A powerful aid that reveals all consonants in the name, leaving the player to enter only the vowels. This aid has a cooldown to encourage thoughtful use.

This system transforms aids from simple "shortcuts" to tactical decisions that balance the desire to progress with the desire to achieve an optimal score.
