Space Surveillance – knowing Space to protect the Planet is a dissemination project of the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF) dedicated to Planetary Defense, a term that includes the study of celestial events that could have effects on the Earth's environment such as possible impacts of asteroids and comets in close passages with the Earth, meteors and meteorite impacts, as well as the necessary prevention or mitigation measures.
