Sound Server

Sound Server turns any Android device into a remote speaker and speech synthesizer using its embedded HTTP server. Its simple HTTP API can be accessed remotely to synthesize speech (text-to-speech) and play media (audio) either stored on the device or retrieved from a URL. It is intended to allow the use of compatible devices as fixtures in a home automation setting.

The embedded server is configurable and supports TLS and Basic Authentication to ensure the legitimacy of requests. The text-to-speech functionality supports all speech engines and locales installed on the device.
