The South West Skills Show app is brought to you by Walpole Digital Media. It incorporates innovative proximity based, Beacon technology that helps revolutionise the way events and conferences are delivered. The app allows attendees and exhibitors to engage and connect together in ways previously not possible and build intelligent data about the flow of attendees around the venue.

Beacons are small pebble sized devices that are powered by a low energy consuming battery. The device transmits a Bluetooth frequency that enables our mobile app to detect the proximity of the attendee when they walk near one.

Imagine walking around a venue as an attendee and being able to receive helpful contextual information that relates to activities and talks being delivered at the event. When arriving at an exhibitor stand you can receive resources relating to topics, or opportunities you might want to explore after the event. Before, or during the event you can also ‘favourite’ the exhibitors you would like to see on the day, creating your own event itinerary.

Our app allows exhibitors to push useful advertising and content to the attendees, to make their event experience fun, engaging and more productive. The event organisers can track the flow of attendees around the venue to see where the popular event areas were on the day, helping improve the experience for future events.
