Report bad smells in your area. Track community odour patterns on a live map.
Something in the air?
StinkApp turns one-off complaints about bad smells into evidence. Drop a pin, pick a category, and add the strength and how long it has been hanging around. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.
Reports show up on the public StinkMap dashboard so neighbours, councils and regulators can see the patterns — clusters of complaints over time, not isolated anecdotes.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Drop a pin. Your phone picks the location; drag the pin if it's off. Only a coarse, ~1 km rounded location is shown publicly — your exact spot is never published.
2. Describe the smell. Pick from eight categories — animal, putrid, burnt, chemical, vegetable, fuel, cooking, other — then rate strength and duration.
3. Confirm. We auto-attach the live wind and temperature so the report points at the likely source, not just the symptom. Tap the dial if the forecast got your microclimate wrong.
WHY IT MATTERS
- Patterns, not anecdotes. A single complaint rarely moves the needle; a cluster does.
- Privacy by default. Submit anonymously, or share contact details only when you want to be reached. No photos required.
- Upwind attribution. Every report carries a wind reading so likely sources, not just symptoms, become visible.
