Surah Mujadilah

Surah al-Mujadilah, also known as Surah al-Mujadalah. It has 22 verses and was revealed in Medina. The title of the surah means "The Pleading Woman" or "The Woman Who Disputes", and it refers to the case of a woman who complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about her husband's unjust treatment.

According to some sources, reciting this surah has many benefits and rewards for the believers. Some of these benefits are:

- This surah talks about a bad social custom by which husbands in pre-Islamic times used to oppress their wives by declaring them as unlawful to them as their mothers. This practice was known as zihar and it was abolished by Allah in this surah¹. The surah also lays down the rules and conditions for reconciliation between the spouses who have been affected by zihar.

Therefore, reciting this surah can help in resolving marital disputes and restoring harmony in the family.

- This surah also warns the hypocrites and the enemies of Islam who conspire against the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the believers. The surah exposes their plots and schemes and declares that Allah is aware of everything they do and say. The surah also promises victory and success for the believers who strive for the cause of Allah and follow His commands. Therefore, reciting this surah can help strengthen one's faith and trust in Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).
