TG Paddy

TG Paddy refers to the rice crop procured by the Telangana (TG) government directly from farmers at a Minimum Support Price (MSP). The state has achieved record procurement levels, which includes both fine variety paddy (known as sannarakam) and common or coarse variety (historically called Doddu Biyyam). The government utilizes this paddy to provide free rice under the Public Distribution System (PDS), which is a key component of its food security and farmer welfare schemes. Telangana is noted as one of the states that actively purchases paddy directly to ensure farmers receive a fair price for their produce.
