TimberTally: Board Foot Calc

Lumber is sold by the board foot. Getting that number wrong costs money at the till.

TimberTally calculates board feet from the dimensions you actually have, and keeps every cut in one list so you know what the whole project needs.

TYPE IT THE WAY YOU MEASURE IT

3/4, 1-1/2, 0.625, 38 mm, 8 ft. Enter thickness, width and length in whatever form your tape or your plan gives you. Mix units inside a single calculation if you need to.

Two digit numbers, fractions and decimals all work. No re-typing, no converting in your head first.

ONE PROJECT, ONE TOTAL

Save each cut to a list. Studs, shelves, a table top, trim. The list adds them up and shows the board foot total for the whole job.

Edit any row and the total updates immediately. Nothing is cached, so a figure on screen is never left over from a value you already changed.

KNOW THE COST BEFORE YOU BUY

Enter your price per board foot and the list shows what the lumber will cost. Useful at the yard, before the boards are on the cart.

IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT CANNOT CALCULATE

A zero or a blank in the wrong place does not produce a quiet zero. The app says which input is the problem and leaves the result empty until it is fixed.

A wrong number you trust is worse than no number at all, because you will act on it.

THE MATH, IN THE OPEN

Board feet = thickness x width x length / 144, times quantity, with all dimensions in inches.

Values are rounded once, at the moment they are displayed. Intermediate calculations keep full precision, so totals do not drift after a dozen entries.

WORKS IN THE SHOP

Every calculation runs on the device. No account, no sign-in, no connection needed while you work. Your cut lists stay on your phone.

No sensitive permissions are requested. The app does not read your files, contacts, location or photos.

Nothing sits between you and the numbers.

WHO IT IS FOR

Woodworkers pricing a build. Cabinet shops estimating a job. Anyone standing at a lumber rack doing arithmetic on a phone that keeps getting in the way.
