Togoto

Togoto is a lightweight application that keeps track of the places you want to visit (restaurants, bars, museums, etc) — In a list or on a map, easily find that restaurant you went past the other day and wanted to try out !

You can create a new place in a few taps — you can use your current location, or input an address yourself.

You can also add tags to your places. You can add, remove or modify the available tags in the "Tags" section to keep your places well organized.

When looking for a place, you can adjust filters and easily find what you are looking for. Buttons help you conveniently switch to Google Maps or Citymapper to find the easiest route to go there.

Togoto stores all the information on your device. No fancy cloud platform or signup. Just use it. You can still export or import your data as a simple human-readable JSON file.

== Why the permissions ? ==

Togoto needs some permissions to work correctly. Here are some explanations as to why we need them and for what :

* android.permission.INTERNET :

We need this to access the address resolution services from Google; and that's basically it. We don't call home or anything.

* android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE :

Same as above, we need this to know if we can access the network or not, and act accordingly.

* com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES :

We need this one to access the address resolution services from Google

* android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION &

* android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION :

These two are quite straightforward. Togoto can work without having access to your location, but it'll be a little less practical then..

* android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE &

* android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE :

Togoto needs these two only to be able to read and write the JSON file that contains the data and that you can import or export from the settings panel

== How to import / export your data : ==

To export your data, just go in the "Settings" panel, and then click on "Export". The JSON file is very simple to read and parse. You can manually modify it if you keep the structure.

To import a JSON file, it's exactly the same, go to "Settings" and click "Import". If the file you chose is not well formed or has errors, the importing process is cancelled and your data is not replaced.
