- The Grounds. This is EA's first real attempt at a social hub for the FC series. Think of it as a neighbourhood where street football meets stadium culture. You control a custom player avatar and move between three distinct zones inspired by real football culture, from street pitches to indoor arenas. You can jump into casual kickabouts, 1v1 face-offs, or team up with friends in Clubs matches. Pure chaos. Pure fun.
Each zone also features mentor characters, including Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala, and Alex Hunter. They guide you through activities, help you improve your skills, and unlock cosmetic items for your avatar. It's a departure from the menu-heavy navigation FC players are used to. Fair enough. It's about time.
One caveat: The Grounds is exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Last-gen players on PS4, Xbox One, and original Switch won't get it. Ouch.
- Career Mode's rebuilt transfer market. The transfer system has been rebuilt from scratch, powered by TransferRoom. Transfers now factor in club finances, player form, ratings, and potential in a more granular way. Buy-back clauses, sell-on percentages, and dynamic bidding wars between AI clubs are all in. You'll need to think harder about letting a young prospect go.
- FUT Gallery. Ultimate Team gets a new collection feature called FUT Gallery. You build collections of player items from different clubs, leagues, nations, and FUT events. As your gallery level goes up, you unlock rewards throughout the season. It gives the mode a long-term progression hook beyond the weekly grind.
- Gameplay refinements. Based on community feedback, EA has tweaked dynamic corners, attacking runs have been sharpened, and AI defending has been rebalanced. The goal is better off-the-ball movement and tighter defensive positioning when you're manually controlling defenders.

- Standard Edition ($69.99): Base game on launch day. Includes a 92+ OVR ICON item for FC 26 Ultimate Team, Career Mode pre-order challenges, and some Grounds cosmetics.
- Ultimate Edition: 7 days early access (play from September 18), Season 1 Premium Pass, 6,000 FC Points over 3 months, an 85+ ICON player item, and an extra Player Evolution slot.
- Ultimate Plus Edition: Limited-time pre-order available until August 31. Includes everything from the Ultimate Edition plus Seasons 1 through 5 Premium Passes, 10,000 FC Points over 5 months, a FUT Hall of Fame Player Pick (5-choice-1 from Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loïc Rémy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia), extra Career Mode content, and additional Grounds items.
EA Play subscribers get a 10-hour trial starting September 18. EA Play Pro members get full day-one access through the subscription.
The game launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. A free limited-time trial called EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite will be available at launch. Nice touch.
Kylian Mbappé appears on all three edition covers, marking his return to EA's football series covers after the FIFA branding split and a standout 2026 World Cup where he took home the Golden Boot with 10 goals.
