Official application of the Tourism Unit of the Municipal GAD of Yantzaza.

The Municipal GAD of Yantzaza through the Tourism Unit, focused on publicizing the tourist benefits that our canton has, has found it convenient to provide tools that allow its own and visitors, to know in detail its natural and cultural charms, for a better use.

The technological advance has allowed us, from wherever we are, with the help of a Smartphone, to obtain information to visit a tourist destination. That is the importance of having an application that facilitates knowing what counts the Yantzaza canton, located in the south of the country, in the province of Zamora Chinchipe.

The Valley of the Luciérnagas, as it is known to Yantzaza, is considered the economic, productive, touristic and mining capital of the province, composed of three parishes, two rural: Chicaña and Los Encuentros, and an urban one: Yantzaza.

Within the tourist area, being part of the Ecuadorian Amazon, we are privileged to have an abundant flora and fauna, of which many species are unique and that can be found in El Zarza Wildlife Refuge.

In Yantzaza canton 91 tourist attractions were inventoried, of which: 53.85% are natural attractions, while 46.15% correspond to cultural events.

Hence the importance of making them known to the world so that those who visit Yantzaza, enjoy each one of them, among which stand out: caves, waterfalls, looms, handicrafts, gastronomy, among others.

Here you will find the various options for traveling to Yantzaza from wherever you are, within the national territory through the different routes that run through the public transport cooperatives of passengers.

You can find the exquisite gastronomy of this place. Tilapia in several presentations, frog legs, Creole chicken broth, and several other delicacies, you can find them in practically all gastronomic establishments.

What to do?

There is an infinity of sites to visit in all the cantonal jurisdiction, natural and cultural attractions. The most attractive natural attractions are found in the Chicaña parish, these being the caves and waterfalls, as well as cultural manifestations such as looms, balconies and flowery gardens.

In the Los Encuentros parish, the elaboration of crafts, gastronomy and Shuar dance stands out. While in Yantzaza, the cultural attractions are the most relevant, of course, taking into account also the local enterprises.
