Select Anywhere

Select Anywhere helps you select and copy visible text in other apps when their own interface does not provide usable text selection.

Enable the service once, then use Android’s Accessibility button or shortcut whenever you want to select something. Select Anywhere opens a temporary selection layer only for that session — there is no permanent floating trigger over other apps. Tap a word, adjust the range with two precise handles, add more selections when needed, and choose when to copy or open a recognized link.

Selection on demand

Select Anywhere does not take over your normal gestures. Outside a selection session started by you, scrolling, taps, long presses and other controls remain with the app you are using.

Precise control

adjust the start and end character by character;

use two handles for an exact range;

select multiple explicit parts in one session;

use Scroll to return touch control to the source app while keeping your selections in memory;

copy the final selection in the order you selected each part;

open a recognized link when you choose.

Works across different interfaces

Whenever possible, Select Anywhere uses text and geometry exposed by Android. If the source app does not provide usable character positions, Select Anywhere can analyze a temporary image of that app window locally on the device. The image is discarded after recognition and is not added to History.

Private by design

no continuous screen recording;

no file, location, camera or microphone permission;

no app-level internet permission in version 0.1.0;

on-device text recognition;

selection history stored only in the app’s private local storage;

automatic app backup disabled;

selected text, temporary screenshots and OCR results are not sent to Select Anywhere servers, analytics or advertising services;

Google ML Kit may collect technical SDK diagnostics and usage metrics, such as device/app information, an installation identifier, performance and feature-event metadata. Google documents that OCR image/text/result content is not included in this telemetry. These technical metrics are described in the Privacy Policy and Play Data Safety declaration.

Select Anywhere uses Android’s Accessibility Service to receive your explicit Accessibility-button/shortcut request, inspect visible text and UI structure in the current app, and draw the temporary selection interface over that app. Accessibility access is enabled manually by you and is explained in a dedicated in-app disclosure before Android Accessibility settings are opened.

Select Anywhere is a productivity utility. It is not presented as a disability-support accessibility tool.
