UP Khadi

"Khadi" means any garments worn on handlooms in India, by cotton, silk or wool yarn or by mixing two or all of these cotton.

"Village industry" means that any industry which is located in rural areas and which produces any goods or provides any service or use of electricity without any service and in which permanent capital investment (in plant and machinery and land building) per artisan or worker shall not exceed fifty thousand rupees. All revenue villages in rural areas and village with up to 20 thousand habitations are defined for this.
