Repite: AB Repeat & Shadowing

■ Memorize with your ears, not your eyes

Repite combines an AB repeat player with a voice notebook that reads your notes aloud.

YouTube videos, vocabulary, exam key points, speeches, lines, names and faces —

loop just the part you need, or record it or type it, and Repite plays it back to you, again and again.

■ Who uses Repite

• Shadowing practice — loop one part of a YouTube video or a native speaker recording with AB repeat

• Language learners who build word lists and drill them by ear

• Exam candidates who record key points and review them by ear on the commute

• Anyone rehearsing a speech, a presentation or lines until they stick

• Work knowledge, names and faces — anything you simply have to memorize

■ YouTube tab — loop parts of YouTube videos

• Search for a video or paste a link, and it plays right in the app

• Marks: tap [+ Mark] wherever you want to hear again, then repeat from a few seconds before, as many times as you like

• A–B sections: make several sections and loop them one after another

• Chunks: cut a long video into a few seconds at a time and loop through it in order

• Speed 0.25–2x, and the total play time of your loop settings is shown in advance

• Plays with the official YouTube player and needs an internet connection. No video downloads or screen-off playback.

■ Listening tab — AB repeat player

• A/B loop, timer loop and bookmarks: repeat just the part you want from any audio or video

• Auto-split at silence: a shadowing player that finds the gaps between sentences for you

• Playback speed 0.25–2x, jump between sections with your earphone buttons

• Recording and video capture: turn your own voice and materials into study material

■ Memorize tab — audio flashcards

• Type a word and its meaning and Repite says them out loud — an app that reads your notes to you

• Add a hyphen (-) or a colon (:) to insert thinking time, and it becomes a flashcard for your ears

• Playback speed, repeat count, sets, reverse (meaning-first) playback

• High-quality voices, study stats — all free

■ Premium (subscription)

• Playback with the screen off (Listening and Memorize tabs) — pocket it and just listen

• Lock screen controls

• Sleep timer — listen until you fall asleep

Try screen-off playback free 500 times before you decide.

■ About this app

Your recordings, word lists and files are never uploaded to a server. They stay on your device.

Only YouTube search terms are sent, through the Repite server, to YouTube to show results.

No account, no ads. A user guide is built in. Available in Korean, English, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese.
