vEyes Object Recognizer

Created by the staff of vEyes (virtual Eyes) - ONLUS, the app allows a blind person to memorize, first and later, objects with labels that are difficult to recognize to the touch, so that they can be found simply by framing them with the camera's camera. smartphone.

This application is extrapolated from the vEyes Wear wearable platform, in order to test its potential and use it, waiting for the definitive release of glasses and belt to take place. The active functions in the interface are positioned near the four corners, so as to be recognizable to the touch. Alternatively, it is possible to use the application exclusively through voice commands, the support of which can be activated by shaking the mobile phone (listen to the instructions for the list of commands). Remember that you must wait for the beep before giving any voice commands.

Just to name a few examples, the app can be used to recognize CDs, records, food products, bottles of water, wine, oil and much more. For those unfamiliar with Braille, the use can be extended, for example, to the recognition of drugs.
