Welcome to HOLLA: Hear Our Local Legacy App.

This app was designed as part of an interactive self-guided walking and driving tour of the community of Watts in South Los Angeles called Walk Watts: Watts is LA. Each icon will take you to a story as told by a Watts community member–past and present. The recordings highlight overlooked stories and events that have shaped this remarkable community, a neighborhood that is more than riots and towers.

The three-component project includes a z-fold pocket map and temporary environmental graphics, however, the stories can be listened to anywhere as they present visions of hope and positive community engagement. The self-guided walking and driving tour includes destinations that are noted on the printed map that is available, free of charge, at the WLCAC, the Civic Center reception desk, Locol, and the Watts Towers Art Center.
