WORDOR

WORDOR is a fun game combining some elements of falling Tetromino games and many word games, in which players earn points by building words.

The game is played on a grid or matrix board. The player can chose the size of the matrix (see "Options" page). Shapes called Tetrominoes (7 different shapes formed by 4 square blocks), fall down from the top of the matrix and come to rest at the bottom. Only one Tetromino falls at a time. As the game progresses, shapes will fall faster and faster.

Basically, it's played just like the all other falling Tetromino games; player can move a falling Tetromino to left or right and also can rotate (only clockwise). From this point on, WORDOR differs;

* Every square block has a letter in it

* The player tries to build a 3,4,5 or 6 letters word in either direction in a row

* When a valid word is built, the letter blocks of the word are cleared and all blocks above will drop one row

* A line will not be cleared in WORDOR, like in all common falling Tetromino games. As a matter of fact, this might be a bad strategy

There are 2 bonus multipliers for the word score; the higher the row, the higher the reward and making multiple words with one shape. For more info check out "How To Play" and "Scoring" pages.

WORDOR uses Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon (ENABLE) word list, which can be found in internet and downloaded free of charge.

WORDOR has been tested on various devices and it's capable adjusting itself to the screen size, with minimum 480px width and 720px height. If the app doesn't look good on your device, feel free to contact me with your device configuration. On tablets, it's working fine but because of the portrait orientation, the board will be huge. There will be a tablet version in the near future or will be a version for Android 7 and above, which will have more flexible board size.

Other future development includes adding more board sizes, a "Global Leader Board" and more shapes to make WORDOR more challenging.

Note: WORDOR doesn't need internet access and doesn't use your device's SD card, hence its database is inside the game which will be setup in installation process "one time only". A progress bar will be displayed the status of this process. Depending on device speed, it may take from one minute to more. In my very old device, it takes 5 minutes.
