Zither

Zither transforms your Android device into a luminous, responsive string instrument inspired by the autoharp and zither traditions.

The screen splits into two worlds: on the right, fifteen chromatic strings spanning two full octaves, running low to high from bottom to top just like a real instrument. On the left, four chord banks — Am, G, F, and C — each voiced from treble to bass so a single swipe down plays a full, natural-sounding strum.

Touch as many strings and chords as you like at once. Zither handles true multi-touch, so you can hold a chord in your left hand while picking out a melody with your right — exactly the way the real instrument works.

Every surface lights up in vivid colour when you play it, with a different hue for each string and chord group. The interface is pure and uncluttered: nothing between you and the music.
