Despite his divorce and looming threats of white aggression, he champions Pan-African thoughts and actions with a steady resolve to attain a Mama for his son and a wife for himself. His story differs from contemporary accounts of Manhood. He doesn't hide from his enemies--he doesn't even meet them half-way--instead he heroically finds them where they are and causes havoc in the purview of protecting his people.
