Folk omens and predictions, about the existence of which almost every person knows, are found in every national culture.

Signs are belief in signs that predict the future. Two types of such signs have been identified: one arose from constant observations of nature, and others from mystical ideas about the world.

At the heart of mythical signs is superstition, they have no rational explanation. In the peasant environment, they have traditionally been passed down from generation to generation.

Signs are often explained by the laws of nature or norms of behavior in society: they talked about the economy, family relations, but natural ones were especially important.
