Slavic myths reflected the worldview of their creators. The existence of the latter was associated with the spirits dwelling everywhere. Some of them the Slavs endowed with intelligence, strength, benevolence, others - cruelty, cunning, cunning. In those days, people believed: creatures such as water, forest, pursue a person all his life. Also, the Slavs were convinced that good spirits help to grow a generous harvest, give good luck, happiness, evil ones - bring disease.

Among the Slavic peoples, according to myths, Perun was the highest god - the creator of lightning. A few other divine patrons were considered his sons. They controlled natural elements: thunderstorm, fire. The Slavs revered all the gods, tried to appease them with prayers, generous sacrifices.
