Что такое экономика?

Economics (from other Greek οἶκος “house, household; management” + νόμος “nome, territory under management; rule, law”; lit. - “rules of housekeeping”) [1] - economic activity, as well as the totality social relations that take shape in the system of production, distribution, exchange and consumption. As a result of this activity, the benefits that ensure the livelihoods of people are continuously reproduced.

For the first time the word "economy" occurs in the IV century. BC. Xenophon calls it "natural science". Aristotle emphasized the benefits of proper housekeeping (from the economy) and contrasted economics with chrematistics - activities aimed solely at deriving benefits[2].

Economic processes are a complex and all-encompassing system, they proceed in contradictory conditions of limited resources and unlimited needs of man and society.
