One thousand nine hundred and eighty-four, or 1984, is a dystopian novel by George Orwell published in 1949. The novel takes place in Airstrip 1 (formerly Great Britain), a province of a superpower called Oceania, in a world where war, government control, and the manipulation of the masses do not calm down. This boycott is under the yoke of a political system that falsely calls itself English socialism (according to "Newspeak" the new language created by the government), and is controlled by the elite of the inner party members who pursue individualism and free thinking as crimes of thought. Big Brother embodies the tyranny of the regime, and he is a leader who rules as a leader who does not come from his hands nor from behind him, although there is a possibility that he does not exist.
