Surat Al-Zalzalah, its virtues, its meanings, and the reason for its revelation

Surat Al-Zalzalah is a Meccan surah, the number of its verses is eight for those with the Kufic number, and nine for those with the civil number. Because it talked about the occurrence of the earthquake on the Day of Resurrection, and if it is earthquake; Because God - Glory be to Him - opened the noble surah with it.

Surat Al-Zalzalah is one of its most important purposes: proving that the Day of Resurrection is true, clarifying the horrors it contained, and confirming that every person will be rewarded according to his work in this world...

And His saying - Blessed and Exalted be He -: “Zalzalat” means: moved with an intense movement that no one knows the amount of it except Allah, the Blessed and Most High, since earthquake: intense movement with disturbance, and it is the opening of the angle is a name for that, and by breaking it is a source meaning movement and disturbance, and similar to this verse is His saying - Blessed and Exalted be He - When the earth shakes, it shakes, and this severe earthquake occurs when God, the Blessed and Exalted, gives permission for the Hour to begin, and people are sent to the reckoning.

Surah Al-Zalzalah has many hadiths about its virtues, in which one hadith is authentic and the rest is either weak or rejected. The authentic hadith is what was brought out by more than one of the imams, especially Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti in his small mosque from the hadith of Abdullah bin Abbas - may God be pleased with him and his father - In which the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: “When the earthquake takes place, it equals half of the Qur’an, and Say: O disbelievers, it equals one-fourth of the Qur’an, and Say, He is God, the One, equals a third of the Qur’an.”
