I omitted the chains of transmission in most of it, as I mentioned, preferring brevity, and because it is intended for the pious, who are not eager to know the chains of transmission, but rather dislike it, even if it is short, except for a few. And because its purpose is to know the supplications and act upon them, and to clarify their sources for those seeking guidance. And I will mention, God willing, in place of the chains of transmission, what is more important than them, which is often lacking, which is the clarification of the authentic hadiths, their good, their weak, and their rejected, for it is something that all people need to know, except for the rare ones among the hadith scholars. And this is the most important thing that must be taken care of, and what the student must achieve from the side of the skilled memorizers and the skilled and trusted imams. And I will add to it, God willing, a number of valuables from the science of hadith, the subtleties of jurisprudence, the important principles, the spiritual exercises, and the etiquettes whose knowledge is essential for those seeking knowledge. And I will mention everything I mention, explaining it so that it is easy to understand for the common people and the scholars of jurisprudence. It includes many chapters. It covers a wide variety of topics, including supplications for prayer, Hajj, fasting, jihad, death, sleep, distress, the two Eids, eclipses, rain, visiting the sick, entering the mosque, dressing, entering the toilet, morning and evening supplications, when riding an animal or ship, and other topics. It also covers supplications for sexual intercourse, greetings, marriage, and other topics.

Abu Zakariya Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Hizami al-Nawawi al-Shafi'i (631 AH-1233 CE / 676 AH-1277 CE), better known as "al-Nawawi," was a Muslim hadith scholar, jurist, and linguist. He was one of the most prominent Shafi'i jurists, known for his numerous books and compilations on jurisprudence, hadith, language, and biographies, such as Riyad al-Salihin, al-Arba'in al-Nawawi, Minhaj al-Talibin, and al-Rawdah. He is described as the editor, refiner, corrector, and organizer of the Shafi'i school of thought, as the practice among Shafi'i jurists has been based on what al-Nawawi favors. Al-Nawawi is called the Sheikh of the Shafi'is. When the term "the two Sheikhs" is used among the Shafi'is, it refers to al-Nawawi and Abu al-Qasim al-Rafi'i al-Qazwini.
