Squid Game (Korean: 오징어 게임) is a South Korean survival thriller series, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, which premiered on Netflix on September 17, 2021.

The series became the first K-drama to top the list of the top 10 weekly TV shows on Netflix and the most watched globally, reaching No. 1 in 90 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

Squid has become the most watched game on Netflix in many regional markets; During its first four weeks of release, it attracted more than 142 million viewers, surpassing Bridgeton's 2020 show as the network's most-watched series to date.
