জ্যোতিষশাস্ত্র এমন একটি শাস্ত্র যা নভোমণ্ডলে বিভিন্ন জ্যোতিষ্ক অর্থাৎ গ্রহ-নক্ষত্রের অবস্থান বিবেচনা করে মানুষের ভাগ্যগণনা তথা ভাগ্য নিরূপণ করে। যারা এরূপে ভাগ্য গণনা করে তাদের বলা হয় জ্যোতিষ। জ্যোতিষ একটি সংস্কৃত শব্দ।
