Tajuddin Ahmed (3 July 1925 - November 3, 1975
Tajuddin Ahmed (23 July 1925 - 3 November 1975) was the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and one of the leaders of the freedom struggle. He successfully served as the Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Bangladesh during the War of Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971. He was known as an honest and talented politician. Tajuddin Ahmed played an important role in the formation of the first government of Bangladesh during the war of liberation which is better known as Mujibnagar government. After independence, he served as the Finance Minister of Bangladesh till 1974. After the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975, he was imprisoned along with three other national leaders and kept in Dhaka Central Jail. He was killed in the same Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975 while being held captive.
