Surah Baqarah Audio ~ Surah Baqarah is the second surah of the Holy Quran which is the largest surah and has 26 verses. There are two types of surahs in the Qur'an: Makki and Madani surahs. The Makki Surah means that all the Surahs were revealed in Makkah and the Madani Surah means that all the Surahs were revealed in the city of Madinah.

As Surah Al-Baqarah was revealed in Medina, it was called Madani Surah. This surah has special features in terms of masail, content and ahkam because in this one surah alone there are over a thousand commands, prohibitions, wisdoms and one thousand stories and news. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) urged to recite Surah Al-Baqarah.
