Mola Nasreddin is a 13th century folk character, one of the most prominent folk satirical Sufi philosophers of Islamic Eastern culture, known for his funny stories and anecdotes.

It is believed that he was born in the Roman Empire, in the territory of modern Turkey (probably 1208-1284). Nasreddin's stories are often humorous and educational.
