Chinese Union Version with New Punctuation (CUNP) was published in 1988. The United Bible Societies organized a team of Bible scholars, translation experts and editorial professionals to implement the revision. Its features include using contemporary punctuations and contemporary names of places and people. Kong Bible Society is the copyright agent of CUNP.

The new punctuation and joint edition were published in 1988 and were revised by a biblical scholar, translation consultant and editorial staff organized by the United Bible Society. It is characterized by the replacement of the old punctuation used by the general modern and common punctuation marks; and the use of modern and common names and place names, such as Shibaniya to Spain. The copyright of the Harmony is represented by the Hong Kong Bible Society. "God" is preceded by a space instead. Because of the supreme dominance of Christianity, Chinese should be translated as "God" or "God".
