The Enlightenment Edition is a single woodblock book, and the author and date are unknown. This book is composed of five contents as a book to be learned after acquiring the Thousand Characters and Confucianism in the course of teaching Chinese characters to children at a Seodang or Hyanggyo in the Joseon Dynasty. The contents are divided into Supyeon, Thousand Pyeon, Jipyeon, Mulpyeon, and Human Pyeon. Also, since the Enlightenment section is composed of short sentences and phrases, it is relatively easy for beginners to interpret and find out the meaning of oral and inquiry.

And the contents of each section are as follows.

In the first part, there is a brief introduction to natural phenomena such as the heavens and the earth, the sun, the moon, the gods, and the Ganghae Mountains, and the human race such as the gods of the army, Jangyu, couple, and bungwoo. In addition, words related to direction, taste, sound, and number are included, and are arranged to be suitable for character education.

In the second part of heaven, there are basic explanations about the universe and heavenly bodies, explanations of the zodiac and the zodiac, and other seasonal changes in the spring, summer, autumn and winter are described.

The third chapter introduces the Oaksahae, and explains natural phenomena such as clouds, rain, fog, snow, and frost with the theory of yin and yang, as well as explanations about the five elements.

In the fourth part, animals and plants were classified and presented by type according to their properties and characteristics. Food and offerings used for ancestral rites and guests are introduced, and various fruits and flowers that are easily encountered in daily life are presented. It is interesting that the arithmetic method contains the multiplication method as an unusual content.

In the fifth human book, etiquette and respect for human relations such as parents, brothers, husband and wife, military gods, confidants, and tribes are presented. In addition, it emphasizes the necessity of study and reading, and informs the manner of oral and oral communication.
