While digging mushrooms in the mountain behind him to make ends meet, a poor wizard discovers an earthen spoon that possesses strange powers. The wizard asks the legendary blacksmith for equipment to learn more about earth magic, and the blacksmith agrees to help him, partly out of curiosity and partly out of a sense of duty.
