This book is intended for the Muslim community in general, from all circles and ages and is suitable for all levels of education. Therefore, the writing is made simple so that it is easy and pleasant to read, as well as directed.

Hopefully the author's intention to make this practice popular in society will be fulfilled, and the impact of the dhikr will be enjoyed by us, so that we will all love and be loved by Allah SWT, love the Messenger of Allah and be loved by His Majesty.

The collection and writing of 40 Hadiths has been carried out by scholars since the 3rd century Hijriyah, hundreds, maybe even almost a thousand scholars from the past until now have done it. Because there are so many, it cannot be ascertained who was the first to do this, but if it is considered true, then some of the names below are the people who first collected hadith using this method.

As mentioned by al-Nawawi in his muqaddimah, they are:

1. Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak (d. 180 AH)

2. Ibn Aslam al-Tsausi

3. Hasan ibn Sufyan al-Nasawi (d. 303 AH)

4. Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Husayn al-Ajiri (d. 360 H)

5. Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Asfahani

6. Al-Daraqutni (d. 363 AH)

Apart from scholars from Arab countries, several great Indonesian scholars also wrote the book al-Arba'in, including:

1. Sheikh Nawawi Banten (d. 1897 AD)

2. Sheikh Mahfus Termas (d. 1920 AD)

3. Sheikh Yasin Padang (d. 1990 AD)

4. Sheikh Hasyim Asy'ari. (d. 1947 AD)
