After getting results, press long on a selected app and opt to get SECURITY ANALYSIS REPORT from apkscanner.com. In an application, APKScanner aims to find out potential attacks such as information leakage and sending SMS to hard-coded (premium-rate) numbers. The analysis is run for a maximum of 10 minutes and a notification is generated on the device when analysis results are available.

You can search apps from Google Play store based on permissions. Primarily, it has two features:

1) Search for "mp3 player" apps, for example, and it will show you apps based on their number of permissions in an ascending order. You can see and choose which "mp3 player" has minimum number of permissions as long as it serves your purpose.

2) From settings, choose the permissions and the apps that have those permissions will be highlighted in the search result. For example, you can choose "Send_SMS" permission and search for "mp3 player" apps. In most of the cases, an mp3 player app should not have an sms sending functionality. You can directly see from the search result.
